Kelly Clarkson is the winner of the first season of the reality TV series American Idol. Shortly after she won, her first CD called Thankful was released. This CD does a great job at showcasing her impressive vocals, even if the songs are not the greatest.

Thankful does have some memorable songs that I never tire of listening to, while there are a few that are just mediocre and I tend to skip over. Kelly's first single's on this album, "A Moment Like This" and "Before Your Love" are both decent pop songs. They are also probably the most well-known, since she sung them first on American Idol and most likely helped her win. "Miss Independent" is a fun song as well, and became another hit single of hers.

I am also fond of the song "Beautiful Disaster" and "You Thought Wrong", which is a duet with American Idol runner up Tamyra Gray.

Overall, Thankful is slightly flawed, but still a great debut CD for Kelly Clarkson.
