The American Journey, Volume Two By Apples on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The American Journey, Volume Two is a nonfiction book that describes the history of America, starting with the end of the Civil War (volume one talks about what happened before the Civil War). This book gives EXTREMELY detailed information about what life was like back them, and backs everything up with evidence and statistics. It is really in-depth, for all of those people who want to learn about the history of America. It shows everything through different perspectives and standpoints, such as economic, political, and social. After reading the first chapter or so, I felt as though I really understood it all. But at times, it can seem a little too overwhelming, especially for students. This book is typically used for high school students taking history courses, especially hard ones. The facts are really detailed, but sometimes, a little too detailed, so it's hard to memorize everything. But overall, it's pretty good.
