The Ark
By Jenn Huffer onI saw this book in the Science Fiction Book Club catalog and the preview sounded very interesting so I ordered the book. I am very glad I did. It is fantastically written and there is never a dull moment throughout the 400 pages.
The author is Boyd Morrison and from what I have read this is his first novel. Morrison's writing style reminds me a LOT of Michael Crichton who is/was my favorite author. I'm am glad to find another author who writes in the same way the Crichton wrote. The book is called "The Ark." The plot of the book is how a group of strangers try to save the world from a "cult" leader who wants to destroy every human being on earth (besides the ones he has chosen as his followers) and "start over." The famous Noah's Ark and the biblical story of Noah's Ark are huge factors in this story. The prion used to create the chemical warfare that the "cult" will use to destroy human kind is a altered prion from the original used back in Noah's day. When the chemical is destroyed a search for the original Ark begins before more of the prion is found to reconstruct the chemical. If the bad guys find it first, the world will be doomed. If the good guys find it first, the world is safe again.
This novel is from cover to cover filled with action and suspense. This is also a fascinating fictional take on the Noah's Ark story/theory and what happened during the flood. It is a great entertaining read and is hard to put down once you start reading. You always want to know what is going to happen next.

This sounds like a great read and one I'll have to get for my husband (and I think I'll read it too...love Michael Crichton books. Thanks for the review on this!
