Being a Southern girl, I love cast iron cookware. When I found a 9 inch grille pan by Emerilware on Amazon, I had to try it. Of course, the fact that it was on clearance for $9 made it even more appealing.
When I got this pan I was amazed at the weight. I was also pleased at how smooth the piece was. Anyone who has used a piece of cast iron cookware that is a few years old will tell you that the bottoms are usually pretty rough. But, Emerilware is smooth enough to use on a flat top stove.
I love this pan because it's perfect for steaks. The key is to keep the pan maintained so that it remains nonstick. This is the part I don't like.
Cleaning and maintaining nonstick cookware can be a pain. But,Emerilware comes with wonderful instructions that make the process easier.
If you've never tried cast iron cookware before this is a great piece to start out with.

Love the cast iron pans. We use them at our restaurant and the flavor you get from cooked foods is amazing!
Will have to check this out, haven't used a whole lot of cast iron cookware but this sounds like a pan I need.
