The Box Of Blocks Never Gets Old! By Jae Harkey on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This toy is TIMELESS! I know that I had one back in the '70s. It is very simple, but safe in design. I think that over the years, some improvements have been made. I don't remember mine having textures on the face of the cube that correspond to the textures on each individual block that can be inserted into that face. There are three each, of three different colored blocks. This toy teaches dexterity, colors, and shapes. I am sure that eventually, it could even be used for simple math and counting. At fourteen months, our daughter is unable to find the specific hole for each shape block, but she knows that they go into the holes and she is trying. Generally the way we get the blocks into the box, is by mommy or daddy getting it started, and her pushing it in the rest of the way. She loves the praise! This toy will provide learning and entertainment for at least another year (if we can keep track of the blocks). At the price of $4.99, it could easily be replaced.
