I received the Diaper Champ as a baby shower gift and boy am I glad I have it! Having used the Diaper Genie with my twins and not liking the twist action, the need to buy refill bags and the hassle of pulling out a string of smelly diapers when it got full, I was liking the Diaper Champ even before I tried it!
The Diaper Champ works with a regular shopping bag. You place the bag inside the Diaper Champ and wrap the handles around the bag holders that are inside the pail. Then, close the top and it's ready to use! Putting soiled diapers in it is also just as easy, drop them in the shoot, grab the handle and lift the handle up and over to the other side. There is a weighted cylinder inside the shoot the pushes the diaper into the pail when the handle is turned. It holds a lot of soiled diapers! I only need to replace the bag once a week, every Monday on garbage day and spray it with Lysol. My son is still in size 1 or 2 diapers so if your baby is older their diapers will be bigger and hold a lot less.
Smell, what smell? The Diaper Champ does exactly what it says it will do - hold a crazy amount of soiled, smelly diapers without everyone knowing that a pail full of soiled, smelly diapers is in the room. The Diaper Champ will also save you money in the long run as there is no need to buy refills for the unit. I recommend the Diaper Champ as an excellent baby shower gift!

Great way to use a product we all have too many of (plastic groc bags) and deal with the diapers!
My daughter had the diaper genie also. I agree, it was kind of a hassle. Glad to hear there is an easier product to use.
Great sounding product especially the part about it using grocery bags. Perfect way to recycle those things that seem to multiply like rabbits in the drawer. This would make a wonderful baby shower gift for any mommy.
What a great product for young mothers. There was nothing like this available when my children were born....it was the old diaper pail. Hehe!
They had just come out with the diaper genie when I was having kids, they have come a long ways, that is awesome!
I had the same problem with the Diaper Genie. This sounds like a great alternative.
I use the Diaper Genie II and like it but HATE buying the refills. They are expensive! I should have gotten this one. I have tons of plastic bags I can use so that would never be a problem. I will remember this if another little bundle comes along =-) Thanks for the information!!
Wow this sounds great!! I like the idea that you don't need to buy refills for it, I always love saving a little money. :o)
We have the Diaper Genie II, but this sounds like it might be a good upgrade.
