This is currently my favorite book. I read A LOT of books, from many different genres. I admit, I was a little intimidated by this particular work, since it is centered on art, and I don't always feel very well educated on that subject. So, I left it on my shelf for over a year before I chose it as my next read. I had no idea what I was missing! You need not know about art in order to enjoy this smart read. In fact, you should be able to appreciate it just because it is unique in design. It is a jumble of art made from words. There is a message on the pages even when the book is closed. You will wish you knew these characters in real life, as you read about the experiences of a young college student in the 1950's. The cast of characters is so truly original, you will never want the story to end. The description of the assignments this student has to complete makes pictures unneccesary; you will undoubtably see it in your minds eye. One one the funniest, most original bokos I have had the pleasure to read. Try it and see if you don't wish you cuold be in Winter Sorbeck's art class.
