The Choice by Nicholas Sparks is a novel about a young man, Travis Parker, who sees his friends getting married which makes him think about his own life. When a young woman, Gabby Holland, moves in next door to him he cannot understand why she is so standoffish. Eventually he gets to know her and they begin a relationship. This novel spans many years following Travis and Gabby and their lives. It's a story about dealing with life and what life hands you. The Choice is a standard Nicholas Sparks story. If you like Nicholas Sparks's writing you will probably like this book. However, I feel that it does not have much depth. It really did not interest me too much. The book seems so predictable. It probably would make a good TV movie though if the characters were allowed to develop.
