The Dark Knight Returns is definitely one of the greatest comic books ever written. When the streets of Gotham become worse than they ever have been before, an old and retired Bruce Wayne comes back from retirement. Every page in this comic is brilliant; I never was bored or confused at anything in this book. This was my first taste of Frank Miller's art and writing styles and I loved them both. I think the direction he took the Dark Knight was a great one. I like to see Batman as a very dark and troubled person and I think Frank Miller did a good job of portraying this. Frank Miller takes a lot of the things in the Batman universe in a different direction, and it works. Anyone that enjoys comics, Batman, or just fun in general should pick up this great graphic novel.
