Reviewing: Intel E8400 Dual Core
Purchased at: Newegg     Price: $169.99 USD

The e8400 Stock clocked at 3.0 Or 9x333 was part of my first home build computer. I was not surprised by the performance it gave out as i have researched this item for almost 2 weeks of consistency. So i bought the cpu for my computer. This cpu is FAST for a dual core. It has 6 MB cache so thats 3mb per core! After a week of hard use i finally went in and overclocked the processor. I managed to hit 3.77 on stock cooling. My motherboard Prevents me from getting 4.0Mhz.

I bought this cpu along with my Gigabyte motherboard with 4 gigs of Gddr2 ram and Artic 5 thermal past. I changed the heat sink about a two weeks ago with the Zalman s9500, Brought my temps from 60C down to 49c max load. At idle this cpu even at 0% fan speed never gets higher then 32c. I downloaded 3D mark 06 benchmark tool and Tested my system at Stock then with the overclock. Here are my scores.

Stock 10589

Overclocked 13288 Both Cpu and Gpu

Over all this Cpu managed to impress me more then i thought it would have, Everything loads fast games run Amazing rendering time has been cut almost in half compaired to my amd athlon x2 3800+ at 2.0 clocked at 2.1 (Non bios overclock)

I would Deffinitally Recommend this cpu to a Bugdet pc user or for a First build as i did and Im still shocked at the Performance.
