The Fellowship Of The Ring By J.R.R. Tolkien By halcamdad on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien is one of the greatest fantasy books of all times. Frodo Baggins, a young hobbit, finds himself thrust into the middle of a big mess - chosen to carry a burden that no other can manage. He is challenged to return the ring of fire to the fiery pit where it was forged in the heart of the orc-swarming land of Mordor.

I saw the recent movies before reading the books. I found the book to be much better than the movie (no surprise, right). The history of Frodo's family and the history of the race of wizards I found very intriguing. This is a classic tale of good vs evil with a great many interesting anthropomorphic races and many beautiful languages (created by Tolkien himself), this is a must read.

I didn't read the book but my friends say, yeah it's better. I love the three movies though.
