The Five Love Languages By JenniferB on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
What a great book! The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate gives great insight and ideas as to how you can show love to your significant other as well as family and close friends. This has really helped me to be aware of my husband's needs physically and emotionally. This book explains the different ways in which each of us receives love and how important it is that we feel loved and that our love tank is full. I have learned that quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, acts of service, and physical touch are the five love languages. I am still trying to figure out what my husband's love language is, but I have narrowed it down to quality time and words of affirmation. It is good to have a focus and I make it a point to encourage him with what I say and make sure that when I spend time with him that it is quality! Now I have to get him to know what my love language is!
This book is also available in versions for learning both your children's and teenager's love languages.

Participated in a group study of this book with other couples. It was very meaningful even for those of us who have been around a while and thought we already knew each other well. I thought so highly of it that I gave it to all my friends for Christmas that year!
