This year, LucasArts released a video game named, The Force Unleashed, which takes place between episodes III and IV and tells the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice. This is the novel based on that video game. It's an excellent story with many of the familiar Star Wars elements in it. In it, Darth Vader has found a young boy who is very strong in the force. He takes the boy and trains him to help overthrow the Emperor. The book held my imagination from beginning to end and it was cool to read about the friendships, relationships, and betrayals throughout. The apprentice is ordered by Darth Vader to find the leaders of a fledgling rebellion and eliminate any jedi who stand in his way. The book is very well written and was great right up until the end. I won't ruin it for you, but if you're looking for great Star Wars action, then The Force Unleashed is a must-have for your collection.
