The Godmother By sndfan2 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

"The Godmother", by Carrie Adams is a perfect chick lit book. This is the story of Tessa King, a thirty-something friend to many and godmother of four. Her life is full of friends and family and yet, she's still missing somthing, or someone, to call her own. Tessa's life revolves around the lives of her friends: troubled Helen and Neil, single mom Billy and her daughter Cora, happily married Francesca and Nick as well as their troubled teen Caspar, childless Claudia and Al, and former flame Ben and his wife Sasha. Circumstances have caused Tessa to be temporarily out of a job, so she has plenty of time to play "fairy godmother" to her friends.

This book was a little bit of a slow start for me, but I stuck with it and was glad that I did...I needed to find out what happened with all the characters, after all!

I enjoyed this book because in a way, I can relate to Tessa. I have several different groups of friends and can see how easily I could get caught up in the day to day details of their lives. In a way, most of us can probably relate the same way. Although I'm hardly a "Fairy Godmother", I do tend to get very involved with those people I love.

Enjoy!
