The Great American Chocolate Tour!
By Momof2Disneyboys onOn a recent trip to Hershey Pennsylvania we took the "Great American Chocolate Tour" at the Hershey's Chocolate World. This was so much fun!
This is not the actual chocolate factory. I guess they used to give tours of the actual working factory years and years ago. This is a simulated tour. You start by walking though what is supposed to be like a forest where cocoa beans are grown. The walls and the TV screens tell you of the chocolate making process which starts with the cocoa bean and ends in delicious Hershey's chocolate! Then you load into a moving vehicle, which is supposed to represent the cocoa bean and you are taken through the whole process. You even go through the roaster! The whole time you can smell chocolate. It is very neat and educational and fun!
The whole tour is free and you can go through as many times as you want! And each time you are given a free sample of some type of Hershey candy. This time is was the new Hershey Bliss. Very yummy!

We do this every year! My favorite part of it is that you smell the chocolate during the entire trip...well, that as well as the "free sample" of chocolate that you get when the ride is over. We've been known to take the tour a few times a day if it's a good sample. Thanks for reminding me how great it is!
That sounds like fun - riding on a cocoa bean! Was there a chocolate waterfall?
This is a great tour! Thanks for sharing.
I like that it is a free tour and they give our free chocolate :)
As much as I love chocolate, I would be touring often! Sounds like a lot of fun!
Wow a free tour, sounds yummy just the name of it. I bet my kids would enjoy it.
What a fun sounding tour! It sounds like you almost get to live out the Charlie and the Chocolate factory movie!! (and in my fantasy, it's Johnny Depp, not Gene Wilder, LOL).
I did this tour years ago and have been wanting to take my kids but haven't had a chance yet we are thinking of doing it next month.
I did the tour when you really went through the factory. And it had a zoo, too. BUT, I had to spend several weeks in Hershey for my job then, and I tell you, I never thought I'd get tired of the scent of chocolate, but I sure did. And it only took about a week, too! LOL! But it's a really fun place to visit. (and my fantasy would have Johnny Depp, too, but with a normal-looking face...)
Sound like fun fun n simply fun with free chocolate boy I can't wait .
