The Grief Club By Sparkle333 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Life is full of so many losses, and I'm not just talking about death. Melody Beattie, the author, lost her 12 year old son, Shane, and suddenly found herself in a club that no one would ever want to join. She deals with the special grief that only those who have lost a child can possibly understand. But she also covers many other losses such as divorce, loss of health, loss of career, loss of dreams, the empty nest syndrome, and many others. She shares her own life experiences, as well as the experiences of others.

The purpose of the book is to share the secret about getting through all the changes and losses that life brings. It's all about sharing your losses and coping strategies with others, and also being there to listen and support others who are going through similar things.

This is a very candid book that doesn't hold anything back. It does not offer simplistic answers to life's losses, but rather addresses genuine feelings of sadness, pain, tragedy and sorrow. But it also offers hope, and ways to deal with loss, and reclaim your life.

This sounds like a good book for anyone to read, because we all experience loss in some way in our lives.

A difficult topic that sounds like the author approaches with excellent vision. Thanks for the info on this book, one that everyone can benefit from reading by the sounds of it.
