The Hartford May Be Angling For Older Drivers By Dave on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Recently I went through the process of gathering insurance quotes from multiple insurers in search of the best price for auto insurance. The Hartford was one of my considerations, but let me explain why I did not choose them.

The Hartford proudly puts on their website and recent advertising that they are for older drivers who are a part of AARP. This should have been a clue for me, an under-25 insurance seeker, but I gave them a shot.

The Hartford is ranked well among local insurance companies for their claims processing and how they work with local body shops. What I believe, though, is that the company may be orienting itself toward older drivers looking for insurance.

While the online quote process was okay, the actual quote I got from the Hartford was disappointingly high. Not sure why that is.

Needless to say, they did not get my business. However, for the reader, I might give them a shot if you are of the older age bracket. That I can say.
