The Heartbreak Kid Dvd Descent By nightwing on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This movie is a remake of the Charles Grodin film of the same name, with lots of dirty jokes added and the story reworked quite a bit. It features the reunion of Ben Stiller with the makers of his hit film There's Something About Mary, the Farrelly brothers. The DVD of this film features an audio commentary, deleted scenes, a gag real, and more.

The film is fairly decent, but pales in comparison to a lot of other Ben Stiller films. There are two leading ladies in the film and Malin Akerman really steals the show. Her looks and her voice are very reminiscent of Cameron Diaz without seeming like she is copying her. Her character and her performance really make the film.

The commentary by the Farrelly brothers is fun and informative with barely any long gaps in conversation. The only disappointment I have is that the commentary was made before the movie was released in the theaters. I much prefer when the commentaries are made after the film has been out so that they can also comment on the publics reaction to the films. But that is a minor complaint and just a personal preference. The deleted scenes and gag real are worth viewing but not especially memorable. There are some other extras, but nothing really worth noting.

In the end this is a fun film, just a bit disapointing. I expected more from the parties involved.
