The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy By Tifffany on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This movie is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Douglas Adams. It tells the story of a man, Arthur Dent (played by Martin Freenman, also of the British version of the Office) and his last day on Earth. Although Earth is destroyed, Arthur narrowly escapes with the help of Ford Prefect (played by Mos Def). Also starring are Zooey Deschanel as Trillian and Alan Rickman (Professor Snape in the Harry Potter movies) as the voice of Marvin. John Malkovitch also has an appearance in this.

Although this is based off of a science fiction novel, it can still be enjoyed by folks who do not typically enjoy this genre. I loved the movie so much that I bought and read the book, which I was disappointed with. Although the plot is definitely science fiction, it is injected with so much color, humor, and some music that it can be appealing to anyone. I thought this was an incredibly cute and funny movie - and who doesn't like Zooey Deschanel!
