Reviewing: The Honolulu Advertiser Newspaper

In my humble opinion, The Honolulu Advertiser is one of the better papers I've read to date. I've got to read other papers from New York, California, Louisiana, Las Vegas, but still maybe because I've grown up with it it's just what I'm accustomed to. The Honolulu Advertisers articles are great because they cover everything from our local news to national & international as well that seemed to have just happened.

The Gannett Foundation owns The Honolulu Advertiser among many of the other papers but, the quality of this paper comes down to the local management. I've had the paper delivered back when I was at home on O'ahu & if ever we did not receive a paper the local district manager would come & deliver it us. I had the paper delivered by one of the other newspaper companies owned by The Gannett Foundation & when I would call they would simply credit me for the paper & I would either have to pack up the kids & go to the store for a paper or miss out on that days news. Unfortunately, that particular paper had gotten so bad I was missing a paper everyday & no one seemed to care or check with the local delivery person if they were delivering it to the right house. I finally canceled the subscription. I sure wish that particular paper was like Honolulu's. Since I'm not on the island anymore I can always catch up on local news via the internet at honoluluadvertiser.com! That way I always know whats going on back at home.

It's important to have a quality local paper that catches so much of what's going on right in your own neighborhood...in our area the local community papers are always so well done compared to the 'big boys' ... do believe it has something to do with having people living right in the area managing them... good info, thanks.

I miss the Honolulu Advetiser! When i was a produce manager-I would get papayas from Hawaii and sometimes they were packed in with the Honolulu advertiser around them! LOL! My staff thought I was NUTZ! I gave them instruction to SAVE the paper so I could read it! LOL!
