The Jessica Lynch Story By Rick Bragg By Tamika Logan on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I put off reading this book for a long time because I had mixed emotions about the story. I was working as a nurse in Iraq at the time when Jessica Lynch was captured. I felt sympathy for the other people who were indeed captured during the same attack as Jessica. My experiences there made it hard for me to digest the media buzz around the real story.

I was pleasantly surprised at the tone of the book. Although the book was written by Rick Bragg and not Jessica Lynch, you get the feeling that he took the time to write an honest story. Many family members were also interviewed for the book.

Reading the book brought back many emotions for me. I needed to read this book to hear what actually happened. Sometimes the truth gets lost in the race for media attention and ratings.

This book does a great job of shedding light on the situation.
