Another movie from my childhood, The Karate Kid is one of the rare few that I can still watch today without cringing too bad.Pat Morita and Ralph Macchio make one heck of a team!Having just moved to a new school, Daniel (Macchio) is having problems with the local Karate team.After one especially brutal beating, a showdown is arranged at a karate tournament.Using very unconventional but effective methods, Mr. Miyagi (Morita) trains Daniel for the fight of his life.This movie has undoubtedly inspired countless people to learn martial arts.Often imitated, but never duplicated, The Karate Kid is a fun and meaningful film that will be a delight for all ages. They don't make them like this anymore!
