Unless you've been under a rock for the last several years, you've most certainly heard of T. D. Jakes. He is a powerful minister, who truly understands the daily challenges that women face. He's even had several movies made from his books.

In this book, The Lady, Her Lover, And Her Lord, he deals with the three most important relationships in our lives. The relationship with ourselves, our husbands, and our God. Women are expected to be so many things in our society--beautiful, nurturing, sexy, smart, etc. But the one thing we need to be most of all, is real.

So much of what we need comes from within ourselves. Having a loving, understanding spouse also makes a big difference as we face the world's trials and heartaches. Sometimes we just need an arm around us as support and encouragement. But sometimes, the only place we can find peace is in the Lord.

T.D. Jakes helps women find the balance that we all need in life. We need to find our own identity and talents, enjoy a loving relationship with our spouse, and know that God has a plan for each of us.
