The Little Duck is an interactive Dora the Explorer large book. There are pictures throughout the book that indicate for mommy or child to push the matching buttons to hear phrases from Dora-swiper-backpack-map etc...There is also a game board at the end of the story for kids to move along the path of Noisy River! Jungle! Farm! There are directions for the game with cards and buttons to push to move along that path. I enjoy the book as much as my children. The pages have such beautiful pictures of the story. The colors are very bright and cheery. The Little Duck is eighteen pages long.I like how this book gets the child so involved and the parent can make the plot even more interesting by asking other questions to open up the child's thinking process. Here are the details of the story...I think I can tell you all the story since your child will be the one hearing/reading it for the first time. Here we go! The little duck was playing far from home and a storm comes. Dora and boots try to get the Little Duck back home. That's whenThe Map is summoned for directions. Hence "Noisy River...Jungle...Farm".Dora is warned by the owl of crocodiles nearby. She has to decide which path to take to avoid the crocodiles. Remember she is looking for the Noisy River. The noisy river is on the other side of the gate. The owl tells Dora that the Gate speaks Spanish and you have to say "Abre". My kids love this part and they say "Abre". Kids learn to speak Spanish and actually know what it means "to open the gate". The story continues and asks if you see anything that can take them down the noisy river. That's when your child speaks up and say "the boat."The sneaky "Swiper the Fox" appears a couple times during the story and Dora says "Swiper No Swiping". They need life jackets to sail down the river. So Dora says "backpack". Several items are in a circle on the page. Kids can name these items and count the three life jackets. Dora-Boots and the Little Duck are almost to the Jungle and must say "Abre" again to get to the jungle. They haveto watch for crocodiles again. They make it through the jungle and call on map again to find the farm. It gets cloudy and Dora calls on Backpack to provide something to help keep the rain off. Your child will select the umbrella out of several items. Swiper comes along and tries to swipe the umbrella. The group has to go through one more gate to get to the farm. Finally the Little Duck makes it home! This is a very cute story....a story even mommy likes!
