The Microsoft Zune: Out Of The Park By vnascone on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

The Microsoft Zune is an MP3/4 player. They come in a variety of capacities, but the one I am reviewing is 30GB. There are several colors, all with the same sort of matte, smoky finish, though it is more noticable on some colors, like the black, than others. The Zune software is much better than I expected it would be, especially after the more recent updates. Videos play very well on its large screen, and album art takes advantage of this as well, giving more than the thumbnail glimpse the iPod lets you have. Other players feel rather flimsy to me, but the Zune feels very durable without weighing as much as a brick. The audio playback is excellent, but this depends as much on the headphones as they player. The Zune headphones both the older model that came with my Zune and the newer ones that come with the recent Zune iterations are very comfortable and very high quality. Overall it is a very good player, especially because of the low price of the 30GB version, and I would recommend that anyone in the market for a nice player check it out.
