The Most Beautiful Gift By Bosoxy on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Imagine my surprise and delight when my son painstakingly saved his allowance money in order to purchase me a precious gift that he knew I would love.
$60 is a lot of money for a child and I would never expect for him to part with that much money for a single gift, but he did. He knew that two of my favorite things were the Wizard of Oz and snow globes, so he put them together and came up with the perfect gift.
This snow globe is actually from a scene in the movies when the wicked witch is peering into her globe after the snow sent by Glinda, the good witch, wakes up the sleeping bunch who had fallen fast in the field of poison poppies. The wicked witch is on one side of the globe, one of her flying monkeys on the other. Within the globe is Dorothy, the cowardly lion, the tin man, the scarecrow and Toto.
The details of each character are beautifully done. The crystal ball is full of water and the snow is just enough.
Do be careful, however, as I was told that this item arrived with a broken monkey wing. My son did not want to return it, in fear that it would not be exchanged quickly enough for Christmas and used a little super glue instead, which seems to have done the trick quite nicely.
This collectible also plays music! It plays “We're off to see the wizard.”
I really love this gift and feel that it was the perfect gift for me and was given with much love.
How lucky am I?
Hi! I just added 6 images to this review. The last close up has some shimmer to it, which is the "snow" in the globe. I also have an image of the bottom, although the re-sizing makes it hard to read much of the print.

Ok, you made me cry. I have enough trouble getting my kids to share a piece of candy with me let alone spend their money to get me such a beautiful gift. You are very lucky!
what a thoughtful son you are rasiing! I bet it is a most beautiful snow globe. It sounds very detailed.
What a beautiful story behind a beautiful gift. That's great he was able to fix the broken monkey wing.
What a great gift to receive from your child. Not only did he save his money but it sounds like he really put some thought into his gift for you :0)
Aww, that is so sweet. As a kid I would have never been patient enough to save up that much money. He must really love you lol. =-) That is an adorable gift.
Aaaaw... what a sweet boy and a beautiful globe!
