The Mysterious Benedict Society By Mean_Queen on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

"The Mysterious Benedict Society" by Trenton Lee Stewart is labeled as a Sci Fi book for kids. But it is so much more. I am much older than the target age for this book and I couldn't put it down. I felt like I did when I read the Harry Potter series. I was swept up in the story, I felt for the characters, and even now that I'm done reading it, I want to know what happens next. The story is about 4 very gifted kids who join together to fight a mysterious evil. Mr. Benedict brings together Reynie Muldoon with his new friends Sticky, Kate, and Constance. They go to Nomansan Island to infiltrate a special Academy for children. The children at the academy are being used to change the world for the worse. And it's up to the Mysterious Benedict Society to stop it. This book is aimed at ages 9 - 12. But I think a younger gifted reader would love the book as will older readers, like myself.
