The Napping House - A Classic
By a-w-omyn onThis is a great classic baby/toddler book.It has a simple, yet fun, poetic theme that centers around a house where everyone falls asleep on the same bed, at least for a time.
The illustrations, done by Don Wood, are wonderful. The book is written by Audrey Wood. And, the book is made of pretty hefty cardboard, so it's managed to survive a few years of use and abuse by two children, and still look decent.
There's a granny, a little boy, a dog, and a cat that end up taking a nap, in a pile. But, one rascally little flea won't let them keep on sleeping.
The book is recommended (on the back) for children between 6 months and 3 years old.
It's a very cute story that has helped to lul my children to sleep on more than one ocassion. They enjoy the colorful pictures, and the rythmic wording.I enjoy the book period!
