The Net 1995 By Rancosto on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Angela Bennett (Sandra Bullock) is a computer expert who works from home and has little social life. A friend sends her a computer disk to take a look at; the disk supposedly has some kind of a glitch, but Angela manages to uncover some hidden information on it. Shortly after that her whole life is shattered. Every record of Angela's identity appears to be erased - and replaced with a new one. She is now called Ruth Marx, and Ruth Marx, as Angela soon learns, has some trouble with the law. It becomes clear that whoever does this to Angela is a computer expert, like herself, and she probably has enough knowledge and skills to get her life back. But will she be able to do it?

This early cyber-thriller was a big hit when it first came out in 1995, when stories of computer-aided identity theft were not so common. Today, it still remains a well-done movie with a solid plot and good acting.
