The New Pornographers Album, Mass Romantic, is the first main release album from the Vancouver based indie group. The album opens with the song 'Mass Romantic' which exemplifies the groups Power Pop upbeat style. Throughout the album they're songs are filled with a variety of instruments - their use of guitars, tambourines, organs and hand claps adds to a very layered and energetic feel to the entire album. Dan Bejar (from the band Destroyer), alt-country singer Neko Case and Carl Newman's (from Zumpano) are al vocally found on the album. The three distinctive voices create songs that are unique from each other as well as when all three are combined a very aurally pleasing sound. Case is featured in the track 'Letter From an Occupant' - her distinct and energetic voice all leads up to the chorus which seems to burst with energy.
