This second season collection of The OC picks up approximately three months after the end of the first season. This season introduces new characters such as the illegimate child of Caleb Nichol (Alan Date) along with Nichol's eventual death, the short-lived lesbian affair of Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton), a romantic rival in the Seth-Summer (Rachel Bilson) relationship, and last but not least, the convict older brother of Ryan Atwood. The season ends as Sandy Cohen and family stage an intervention for wife Kirsten (Kelly Rowen) who has become an alcoholic following the death of father Caleb. Loaded onto seven discs, The OC Season Two once again packs a special features punch along with its 24 episodes. Deleted scenes and gag reals along with the typical cast and crew commentary comprise the seventh and final disc of this boxed set.
