The Only Bank You'll Ever Need, NOT!
By crazycol onFifth Third Bank advertises itself as "The Only Bank You'll Ever Need".This couldn't be further from the truth.I have banked with Fifth Third for almost 15 years. We opened our accounts with this bank when we refinanced our home. We were told we would get a better interest rate if we opened a checking account and had the payment automatically deducted each month,
I liked the bank for the first 10 years, however, the past 5 have been horrible.I am currently in the process of researching new banks so I can leave this bank.Fifth Third Bank does nothing but nickel and dime, or should I say dollar you to death? They have a new policy regarding deposits so that if a debit arrives even a minute before your deposit, even if it is on the same day you are hit with a $33 charge for each item.It use to be as long as the deposit arrived anytime that day the check would not bounce.
I feel that Fifth Third is in business to get as much money out of their customers in anyway they can.The amount of bank fees charged by this bank is out of control. My son is being charged $1 for every withdrawal he makes from his savings account.I have had enough of these ridiculous fees and wanted to warn others about this bank.

I am sorry to hear that you have had such a bad experience. It is getting harder and harder to find banks that won't dollar you too death. That is terrible that they do the $33. I have had a time where I was charged the NSF because the NSF combined with the debit wouldn't have been enough. Go figure! If they hadn't charged the NSF there wouldn't have been any problem with a bounced debit. Hope that you find a bank that is much better than what you have. It's a shame you're having to look around more.
Just the name "Fifth Third Bank" is enough to confuse me! Good luck finding a new banking institution.
It gets so frustrating to be so aggressively charged fees at our banks!
So glad I am not the only one. They screwed me royally on a home equity loan. I to am looking for a new bank!
everyone should be on this web site, to see what banks to stay away from and put them out of business.
It sounds like a good bank to be from! Thanks for the warning!!
Fifth Third took over a banking institution in our area and basically cleaned house of all the employees. I would never bank with them, give me a credit union any day of the week!!
They sound terrible, thanks for the warning!
My bank does the $33 overdraft fee, too. I just keep a higher balance in my account to make certain I'm covered. But a $1 fee for every withdrawal from a savings account? That's ridiculous.
