Norton anti virus is perhaps the only anti virus providing full security to the computers and laptops. Believe me, I have tried many of them like the free avast anti virus, free avg, and some trials of paid versions like Norton, Mc fee, Kaspersky, Avira, Panda, etc. I have found many of them not so competitive as the Norton anti virus.
The only problem that I faced with Norton is that it makes the computer processing. But according to some experts I talked to, this slowdown is because Norton is very particular on scanning each and every file very thoroughly before opening it in front of you.
Norton comes prepared with latest version and online update options. Also I have found Norton to be among the first few to immediately find an alternative (design a kill) for the new viruses, whenever launched.
Norton might be a costly option in the beginning but saves you of lots of problems. I have found other anti viruses not so quick and efficient in their working when compared to the Norton anti virus from Symentec.
Many of the companies my friends are working for, rely only upon Norton for that ultimate protection. If you are still using other ones, try switching to Norton or try on a trial version first to experience the difference.

NORTON TRIAL VERSION
I like Norton. I am debating right now whether to spend money to renew it or go for a free one. Norton does not seem to slow down my computer but than I have a newer computer.
Get it renewed if things do not go slow with your machine. A free one can not provide full security.
Unfortunately, I find Norton to be a piece of garbage. I would never recommend any one to use it. There are many more products on the market that are much better. AVG is one, Spyware Doctor , Spybot search and destroy. Ad-Aware, etc;
