The Pole Is A Switch By Eggy on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This Stiffel bronze colored floor lamp is quality constructed. It has enough weight that it does not rock or tip. It has a three-way light socket, so it can provide a range of light depending on the need.

It has a fairly neutral design which matches many types of decor (possibly excluding modern).

There is a small round tray around the base post which is primarily ornamental but can be used as a receptacle for rubber bands taken off the newspaper if you are sitting in the chair next to the lamp.

The lamp shade is of good quality and the cord is fairly long.

The light's most interesting feature is a base switch which will turn the power on and off independent of the three way switch located on the light socket by simply pushing down on the lamp pole. This special base switch means that you don't need to reach under the lampshade and feel around to find the three way switch (unless you want to change the level of illumination.

I am quite happy with my Stiffel floor lamp.
