The Poulan Pro 300 By Steve Collier on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My old riding mower finally quit on me, and there were so many problems that needed fixing, it seemed replacing the mower with a newer model was the best solution. Mowers are a lot more expensive than they were 12 years ago when I purchased my last mower, so I wanted to make sure I chose an affordable mower that would be durable and capable of cutting my 2 acres on a regular basis with little to no maintenance... It seems the Poulan Pro 300 has met all my demands and then some...

The Poulan Pro 300 has a 502cc Briggs & Straton engine which produces 19.5 horse power. The 46 inch cutting deck with six different blade height settings makes it possible to cut just about any over grown ares, as well as a six speed control so I can cut as fast or as slow as I desire. My property had become so over grown that I actually thought about hiring someone to bush hog the entire area before I even tried to use the mower, but instead, I thought I would put the new mower to the ultimate test just to see what it was capable of. Needless to say, I was very impressed ! The Poulan Pro 300 not only cut the over grown areas that were over waist high, it also performed an excellent job on the areas I had managed to keep mowed with a push mower until I was able to replace the old riding mower.

At first I was concerned that having such a large engine would cost a small fortune in fuel, but after a few cuttings, I find that the engine performs better than the old 14.5 horse power engine on my old mower, and is actually cheaper to operate because I can cut the lawn much faster with lower RPM's. So, if you are in the market for an affordable riding mower that not only dependable but is fuel efficient, perhaps the Poulan Pro 300 will be your choice as well.
