The Pursuit of Happyness

The Pursuit of Happyness is a 2006 film of intrigue and inspiration. It is heart-warming and beautiful. The film focuses on a man who is financially struggling and is continues to hurt himself and those around him. As Smith accepts the role of a man who continues to pursue happyness after failing time and time again, he and his son, Jaden, share a very close bond. I think that's one of the reasons as to why I just love this movie so much. It's just so beautiful the way everything unfolds and unravels rightbefore your eyes, but the beauty of the film is the father-son bond that Smith and his adorable son share in the movie.

The movie can be viewed from so many different perspectives. It's got so many themes, that I can only begin to count. The film's about honesty, inspiration, happyness, persistence, continuity, fatherhood, love...It's not the fact that it is based on a real-life story that makes the film so interesting. It's the way the director, actors, producer, photographer and musician came together to make that story known to those around the globe - to make the story come to life.

I don't know how many times I cried during the movie, but yes, I cried. I cried time and time again. I cried when Jade cried. I cried when Smith cried. I cried when Linda left the family, but I cried most when Christopher - Smith - got the job. The movie is certainly not one of those movies where everything just kind of randomly happens. Everything beneficial to the main character just sort of happens without reason. This film is all about struggles, but it is in the end that Smith finds himself.

It may seem to someone there's nothing "happy" about the movie, but there's just so much more than meets the eye. When Christopher - Smith - was at the bus station or whatever it was with his son, he was certainly happy. It was all in his eyes - in his actions and his words. He loves his son in real-life and in the movie. He loves him so much. His son is hope for him and gives him a reason to life every day.

Smith did a great job in this movie. Everyone did. They brought life to the screen. They brought sadness, disappointment and hope to the big screen. The actors did a remarkable job, along with the producers, the director, crewmen...They made everything so real - the point of every movie.

I think the only thing the movie should really work on is improving the environment so that it looks like a 1980 San Francisco as opposed to a 2006 San Francisco. If it weren't for a friend of mine and later some research online to confirm the statement, I would've never known the movie was supposed to take place in 1980 San Francisco. Maybe all this happened in 1980 in real life to the real Christopher Gardner. The film is just a remake that takes place in 2006. That, I can understand. I'm still confused, though.

In addition to all this, the sound quality is great and so are the graphics. The video quality is remarkable. No freezing or any of that annoying stuff. Everything's perfectly fine and makes the movie even better than it actually is.

The movie's got a great message. It's one about persistence. The fact is straight and to the point. You can't have everything you want in life, but when you work hard for some of those things, you'll get them.
