The Sea Of Monsters, Percy Jackson, Book 2 By harleyquinn on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

The Sea of Monsters is the second book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. This review will contain spoilers from book 1, The Lightning Thief.

Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon, the Greek God of the Sea. Percy discovered this in the last book after being sent to Camp Half-Blood, a summer camp for other sons and daughters of the Olympians.

Book 2 begins with Percy in seventh grade at school. After his big adventurers at Camp Half-Blood the previous summer, the school year has been very quiet. But as the book opens very strange things start to happen. His friend Annabeth arrives from camp to tell him that his upcoming trip to Camp Half-Blood is going to start sooner than he expected.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first, if not more. The characters remain entertaining and you really begin to care what happens to them.

The third book in the series is out and the fourth comes out in May of 08.
