The Shining By GeorgeJuls on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I've seen the movie multiple times, but I was never prepared for the excellency of this book. First of all, you have to at least like Stephen King, the author, at least a little bit to enjoy the contents of this book. It seems to get into the mind of the reader, confusing you with every chapter. The writing is simple and not very hard to understand, it's moreso the meaning behind the words that take a little effort to get. If you don't like a book that makes you think, then this book is certainly not for you. It's a horror-type book, as well as a psychological one. The downer of the book is that you need to read at least the first 10-15 pages to really get into it. The first time I started reading it, I read the first page and couldn't go any further. But then, I had no more books left and decided to try it again, and I was satisfied with the result. Stephen King adorer or not, this book may be just for you if you like to think while you read.
