The Simpsons Game

Without a doubt, The Simpons Game is the best videogame incarnation of the yellow family since the Simpsons Arcade game way back when. However, that's not saying a whole lot. There's fun to be had here, of course, and the humor is some of the best stuff to come out of the Simpsons in years, but it still feels really limiting. While it's nice to not be shoved into a car this time around like in Road Rage or Hit and Run, you still don't have the freedom that you really desire and all it amounts to is a big, pretty beat'em up. That being said, roaming around a fully realized Springfield is pretty amazing, even if you can't interact with the large majority of buildings.

Sadly, I can't recommend a $60 purchase of this game, even for diehard Simpsons fans, although it is definitely worth checking out.
