The Sisters Grimm, Book 1 By harleyquinn on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Sisters Grimm: The Fairy-Tale Detectives is the first book in the Sisters Grimm series. Sisters Sabrina and Daphne have some famous relatives, the Brothers Grimm. The Brothers worte down all of the oral tradition fairy tales that they came across, which became many of the great tales we know today. Well, at least historically. In the books the tales the Brothers recordered have much more of a base in reality.

When their parents mysteriously disappear, the girls are sent to live with their grandmother, who is weird. But that isn't really even the point, they actually thought she was dead! Seems like their parents were hiding a few things from their daughters. Turns out all the Fairy Tales their famous relatives had written down were actually part of a written history of real magical myschief.

The book stands out with it's addition of a traditional mystery, crime-solving element that adds depth. I just can't get enough of the girls and their crazy grandmother. And the series has plenty of great secrets to dole out, that always kept me on the edge of my seat. Perfect for readers 8 and up.
