The Sturdy Timex Reefgear By KiloVictorSierra on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Three ones and a five, and my overall rating is a 4.5? I'm not schizophrenic, I swear. Rather, this is what happens when a watchmaker provides a really high quality product. I first purchased this old boy about 5 years ago in a WalMart because I wanted a watch. It was the cool thing at the time, I suppose. Unfortunately, my untrained eye picked out this five dollar monstrosity. A blue fabric strap attached to an ugly gray and black plastic watchface. Even the shape is displeasing in it's generic nature. Despite it's ugliness, I still wore it to school every day for about 4 or 5 years. I've fallen into pools, onto rocks, onto streets, and into love all while wearing this watch, and while it never got more aesthetically pleasing, it never gave out, either. The strap began to fray almost 6 months after the purchase, and has continued to do so, although it seems in no danger of breaking. I've had to replace the battery twice, but apart from that, this five dollar watch has lasted me a long time. If I hadn't just recieved a nicer looking one, I'd probably still be wearing it.
