The Very Hungry Caterpillar By Eric Carle By Cnt24 By cnt24 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is a wonderful children's book. It promotes early reading, site words, teaches the days of the week, and early counting tasks. The story also teaches the general life cycle of a butterfly from caterpillar to butterfly.

This book can also teach your child that eating too much will give you a stomachache. Talk about getting more bang for your buck!

We have been reading this book to our little one for quite some time. Thanks to its interactive nature and colorful illustrations, she has learned the names of the weekdays. It kick started her counting skills. It also taught her how to identify various foods by picture. All of this occurred way before her equally aged counterparts--something we are very proud of and impressed her pediatrician.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a book that all children should have in their library. Don't pass it by because there is more to it than meets the eye.
