The Very Lonely Firefly By Olin Froid on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Very Lonely Firefly is a great children's book written by Eric Carle, who has also written The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This book is a nice storybook for all little kids.

I found this book at the library, and have it on our shortlist for must buys for our children. I love his other books and this one is no exception. The subject matter is focused on a little firefly who sees all sorts of different colored animals of all shapes and sizes, an on the last page you are left with all the other fireflies that flash from the little lightbulbs that are actually in the book!

I must say, the children love this book! The pictures are all well done, the story is short and sweet and flows well. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute book for little ones they love!

I remember this book. I really liked it as a kid.

Sounds like a very cute book. My boys loved The Hungry Caterpillar when they were younger but I've never seen this one.

My boys loved the Very Hungry Caterpillar too. I never did find this one, which is sad, because they would have truly loved it as much as they did his first book.
