I got this CD not too long after it came out and haven't been disappointed. Although first i would recommend listening to some of the White Stripes other songs to find out if you like their music first.

Jack White is an amazing guitarist, he's one of my all time favorites up their with Eddie, Hendrix, and Page. As a songwriter though he's not great, but I think he uses lyrics only to enhance the instrumentals, which are great.

As for the theme of this CD it's got kind of like an irish-celtic influence to it although some songs veer off for a nice change of pace into sounding kind of mexican with spanish horns blasting through some songs.

All in all I'd recommend Icky Thump, Conquest, Little Cream Soda, and Rag and Bone.
