This Boot Is Made For Walking!

These are some expensive boots that truely aren't pretty! I see why my Mother always said no playing ball in the house. I've always thought she was just uptight & since I'm a younger Mom I'm still cool, we can play in the house right? Wrong! I was going to kick it really hard, I missed & kicked the ground & I heard a snap. After that I had a hard time walking & had to go to the doctors, then he sent me to have an x-ray because it was really badly bruised & swollen. After the x-ray tech got through, I got a phone call from the doc that it was definitely fractured so I had to get a boot. I picked up the boot & the nurse showed me how to put it on. Lots of velcro to securely hold your foot in place. Amazingly it made walking a lot easier. It looks like a moon shoe & a knee high boot blended together. After I got my boot the doc called me back to let me know the x-ray tech mixed up the patients & my foot was not fractured just badly sprained but, I still had to wear the boot. At least I can walk with no problem/pain. Just be sure not to step on anyone elses foot because it could do some serious damage.
This is one boot I'd not want to have to use :) have never had a broken bone but a few sprains so know how painful they can be...glad it's helping you to remain mobile. Thanks for the info
I have this same boot. My ortho guy gave it to me 3 yesars ago when it was decided that pinning on a multiple fracture wasn't the safest option. So after wearing quite a few casts, I was placed in this boot. Did it ease the pain of walking? Yes. But, it is soooo heavy and the sole so awkward, plus the differential in height between one leg and another made it unwearable.
That's crazy about mixing up the patients! As it turned out, it was good news for you, but the poor other person!
Reminds me of Bella in Twilight hahaha... this became some sort of a fad for highschool girls i think... I have seen some sites where most girls wear this during their prom...
Your poor foot! That's scary that the x-ray technician got the x-rays mixed up. It's a good thing they didn't make you get a cast.
