I have been using my old mercury thermoter for a very long time. When my baby came, I always kept it handy. But my sister in law said that it is not good to use the mercury thermoter because when it breaks, the mercury can poison my baby. I got scared but did not have extra money to buy.

Thankfully, my sister in law got one for us and she god this Safety First digital thermometer. This is really a gift literally and figuratively. This is because my baby does not stay still and if I have to use my old thermometer on her and wait for five minutes, I think I would never be able to get an accurate reading.

In this case, the digital thermometer is very accurate because it is pretty stable in counting the digits. But moreso, I am happy because it takes only a minute to take a reading! Phew! But even with a minute, my baby is still so fidgety. Now, we have to hug her to keep her from removing the thermometer from her underarm.

This product is very good for us, except that I want something more--the one that our pediatrician uses because it takes only a few seconds to read the temperature when inserted in the ear.

But oh well, beggars can't be choosers and this is already a gift to us. I already appreciate it. It is a very good product, if only my baby would stay still while we take her temperature.
