Thumb Wars: The Phantom Cuticle Dvd By PC200X on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Thumb Wars heralds the beginning of an amazing new technique in media: Thumbation, in which people's thumbs have eyes and mouths superimposed on them. The result? Super-hilarious all thumbs movie parody filmettes.

Thumb Wars: The Phantom Cuticle follows the adventures of Loke Groundrunner as he comes across two mysterious "digits," Beep-Boop-Beep and Prissypeo, leading him into an amazing battle with the evil Black Helmet Man and the rescue of the tasty Princess Bunhead.

Despite the title, the filmette is an interesting take on Episode 4, with bits of Episode 5 sprinkled in. Characters are just as one may expect them to be, silly, but still good takes on the characters they're parodying.

The DVD is about what you'd expect from a $10 title. A short filmette, plus a few interesting enough bonus features. For one, you get an interview with Gabba the Butt, which is actually pretty hit and miss, as he's nothing like the snarling slug from Star Wars. You can also view storyboards from the film, as well as listen to a full-length audio commentary by Steve Oedekerk himself. If you liked this, chances are you'll be eagerly anticipating checking out the other movies the DVD advertises.
