Time For A Grown Up Toaster Oven
By BeautifulBabies onWe are located in the boonies so we have a lot of holidays spent with our family away from home, my husbands co-workers & their families.Since our house is the biggest, our house was the chosen one to have everyone come over & have Thanksgiving together.Every major holiday normally has everyone coming over.I needed to make a lot of dishes which required a lot of baking.Well, a few months ago while strolling through Target, I came across the cutest toaster oven ever.It was a mini Hello Kitty toaster oven & I told my husband I had to have it to make toast & even bake little treats in it.He told me it wasn't practical & he wasn't going to be using a Hello Kitty toaster.I said it didn't matter because I would do all the toasting if I had it.So I convinced him & we got a Hello Kitty toaster.Well, at first it was so cute, then after only being able to toast two slices of bread at a time, the novelty wore off. There was no way I could make a green bean casserole in that. After hearing the "I told you so", we browserd through the Sunday paper ads & saw a stainless steel convection toaster oven at Target for $55.It was a great deal & is large enough to fit 8x8 & 8x10 pans in to bake dishes in.Although on the directions it is not recommended to use glass dishes while using the convection setting. There is 4 different settings you can put it on & I was able to make the green bean casserole, rolls, & cornbread in there while the turkey used the oven.It is fairly easy to clean also because there is a crumb tray that catches all the crumbs & all you have to do is slide it out.I line mine with foil to make clean up even easier.I am so glad now to have a grown up toaster/convection oven!
