I wouldn't say that I actively collect any one thing, although if you come to our home, you will find several teddy bears.I love teddy bears because they are so many things all at once.A bear can be cute, cuddly, welcoming, stylish, country, or sophisticated, and most importantly, comforting.

One of the bears in our home belonged to my husband before we got married. It is made by Russ, who have a tradition of making old-fashioned nostalgic teddy bears. This little guy's name is Windslow. His fur is silver-grey and he has a cute blue bow around his neck.Windslow has found a home in my blue living room, welcoming everyone who enters.

Just this past Christmas while we were watching old family videos, there was a clip of my husband and his little brother opening Christmas gifts.Who should appear out of a gift bag but our very own Windslow!I checked the date on the bottom of the screen--1998!

At eleven years old, our little bear still looks as good as he did that first Christmas morning. His fur is unruffled, still shiny, and still very soft to the touch. This brave soul has survived a household of boys, and is still bringing smiles to people today. He is definitely a testiment to good quality and the Russ name.

If you are looking for a lasting heirloom, choose Russ teddy bears.
