Tire Safety By loveonce1 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I purchased a new 2008 Toyota Corolla this past January. I am in love with my new, or I was. Two weeks after I got it I was on my way home from work and I decided to take a hydroplaning trip and smash into another car. I was not happy, but most of all because it was my brand new car. All I was doing was stopping at a red light, there was no slamming on the brakes or anything. Needless to say it was oil on the road and I just hit it the right way.

I sent my car up to my Dad to be fixed and even though my tires were still in perfect condition he wanted to put Michelin tires on them. He swears by them and always replaces them no matter what vehicle he is driving.

I have the Michelin Hydroedge on my car. Michelin offers a 90,000-mile warranty and the kicker....is the best wet-braking tire out there. Just what I need on the Florida rainy days. They are supposed to last up to 33,000 miles longer than most common tires. According to them they are also the most fuel-efficient tire I can get for my car. I have not noticed a difference, but if they say so I will believe it.

I am very pleased with my new tires and best of all I didn't buy them. Isn't that what being a Daddy's little girl is all about???

I'm glad these have made your car safer to drive. I think your Dad would not have minded spending the money for your safety.

yes, daddy did good. These are great tires. It is great when we have our parents to help out. Unfortunately mine are dead, but it is good that your dad is there to take care of you and keep you safe. thanks for sharing the information and your experience.

Of course that's what being daddy's little girl is about :0) I'm sure your dad put them on for his own piece of mind....your safety is well worth the money!

If you live where it rains a lot it seems that you would really need to have tires that reduce the hydroplaning.
